Riot will add a third international tournament for LoL in 2025
Riot Games plans to hold a third international tournament for League of Legends in addition to MSI and Worlds between the winter and spring seasons of 2025. This is reported by the portal Sheep Esports.
Currently, details of the new championship are not known, but it is assumed that at least one team from each major region will be invited. According to Sheep Esports, regions are currently working on a significant restructuring of their local formats, in particular, to adapt them to the new tournament.
Representatives of Riot Games commented to Sheep Esports that they plan to update the LoL Esports schedule for 2025.
While little details are known about the event, rumblings of a new international event have been growing within the past few months. Sheep Esports can only confirm that the LCS is exploring a potential move towards a 3-split format, similar to the LEC’s.
