IEM Rio 2024 Results of the Day 3: Navi upset, Faze, Mongolz and Eternal Fire eliminated
IEM Rio 2024 continues to shock. The tournament is gradually approaching the playoff stage and unfortunately we won't see many top teams there.
Yesterday's game day was sensational again! Every match was great and many Counter-Strike fans are in partial shock because of the latest results, which we will analyze right now.

Let's take a closer look at the matches
Faze 1-2 MOUZ
The first match between Faze and MOUZ was quite tense, MOUZ were ahead of their opponents at times, but overall the game was even.
Ropz again carried Faze on his shoulders, making 59 frags during the whole match, but the long-time leader of the team, rain, just disappeared from this fight. He played badly during the whole tournament, and maybe it will be the first calls to reshuffle after the Major. MOUZ showed a disciplined game and deservedly went further. Torszi was the hero of this match.

Mongolz 2-1 Eternal Fire
In this match, the Mongolz gave their best performance of all time and it's worth emphasizing. They were able to stop the elusive and “eternally” young Eternal Fire without compromise.
On the 1 map, Anubis, which was the map peak of EF, the Mongols tore the Turks apart without a chance, showing all their power. On Mirage, Eternal Fire leveled the odds a bit with the help of excellent performance from Woxic and Xantares. But Inferno somehow did not go well for Eternal Fire, on the third map the Turks were completely confused and Senzu left them no chance to stay in this tournament. A beautiful victory for the Mongolian team.

Furia 2-0 NaVi
The most disappointing match of the evening was the match between homeland team Furia and Navi. It would seems, well, what could go wrong for the 2-time major champions?
Furia felt great on all 2 maps, trying not to give away the advantage and not letting Navi get too far away from them. Let's emphasize the great performance of veteran Fallen, who made a strong contribution to Furia's victory in this match and KSCERATO, the team's tireless frag leader, who was rushing around the maps the whole match trying to succeed everywhere.
The main hunter of Navi, b1t, was simply not present at this match and it played a cruel joke on Navi. Their best shooter was in terrible shape yesterday and it is impossible to understand the nature of such a disgusting performance. Did Brazilian charisma have such an impact on this? Or was Valera just overexcited? We should also note the first-class performance by W0nderful, who made an Ace on Nuke and tried to help the team the whole match. But alas, Furia won again at this tournament.

Vitality 0-2 HEROIC
The second upset of the day 3 is the match Vitality against Heroic. In this match there was little doubts that Vitality would finally stop the rebellious Danes from Heroic, but Heroic didn't think so and eventually destroyed the French and megastar Zywoo couldn't help them. Teses was fantastic the whole match, two quadrokills that probably decided the fate of the whole match, concentration at the highest level. Everyone can only wonder how Heroic were able to gain such good form, because their previous performances in the same squad were just a laughing stock.
To be honest, it is still a mystery, but there is no denying that the Danes are eager to prove that they can and will outplay the top teams.

Virtus.pro 2-0 Astralis
This match can not be called a pattern or a fluke. It should be admitted that Astralis were expected more in this confrontation, but judging by the results, only the name is left of the legendary Danish team.
dev1ce could not get the team out of this state of uncertainty, CadiaN is still in disgusting shape, Jabbi and Stavn tried their best not to let Astralis sink into this abyss, but in vain. VP only took advantage of the Danes' mistakes and played tactically well enough. Fame and FL1T were the best players of the match.
Virtus.pro 2-0 Mongolz
In the decisive match for the passage to the next stage between VP and Mongolz, Virtus.pro were more serious.
The Mongolz lost a lot of strength and energy playing at the maximum level against Eternal Fire, so to some extent it could be considered that VP still had more strength. The Mongols tried very hard on the first map, Ancient, which ended with a score of 13-10 in favor of VP, did not give VP much space, and played decently. On the second, as it turned out to be a decisive map for the Mongols, they failed and were confused. On Dust2, VP was able to easily take out the Mongols with a score of 13-3 and thus continued their path at IEM Rio 2024.
That was really interesting and eventful the third day of IEM RIO 2024 turned out to be. And we hope that the playoffs will not disappoint either.
